The new Director General of the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD), spoke on the main stage of Cybertech Global TLV and shared his vision on the future of Israeli cyber defense and international cooperation.

“The Cyber Directorate has three main missions,” said Portnoy. “First, defending Israeli civilian cyberspace, improving incident response and increasing resilience. Portnoy stressed that this is not a task that can be done alone, but rather requires across-the-board cooperation with civilian and government organizations.

The second mission of the INCD, according to Portnoy, is to “strengthen national capacity building, by raising national awareness and developing new technologies, and maintaining and improving Israel’s position as leaders.”

Third, Portnoy discussed the importance of international collaboration and cooperation, and the INCD’s quest to enhance such collaborations and create a united cyber front of likeminded countries.

“Cyber threats are an inseparable part of every nation-state’s threats these days,” concluded Portnoy. “We will continue strengthening our cyber defenses. I will do everything in my ability to strengthen the Israeli cyber defense.”
